Donations

Thank you for your interest in supporting your local library. While public funding supports libraries, your gift helps us thrive. Donations allow libraries to expand their core services, providing a better experience for everyone.

Libraries connect our community to the world, sparking innovation and supporting growth and access to library resources.

Material and Book Donations

The resources of the Region of Waterloo Library have been carefully developed by librarians who strive for a balanced, useful collection, which reflects community needs. The Region of Waterloo Library does not accept unsolicited donations of books, magazines, or audiovisual due to limited storage space and increased demands on library staff.

Books donated by local authors or of local historical significance, may be considered and must be accompanied by a signed RWL Temporary Receipt Form. The form needs to be completed in person at a branch at the time of donation. Whenever possible, the RWL will offer to purchase books by local authors, in lieu of accepting a donation. Information on registering with local book vendors will be provided to the author.
