Borrow the Internet at Region of Waterloo Library
Beginning October 17th, Region of Waterloo Library (RWL) cardholders can borrow hotspots that give access to the Internet anywhere in Canada.
These wireless devices, called “hotspots”, enable users to connect laptops and other electronic devices to the Internet. Hotspots will be available at any RWL service location, and any adult cardholder may borrow one.
Hotspot lending will enable RWL patrons to access the Internet from almost anywhere, on the road, at the cottage, wherever Bell cellular service is available.
“This means freedom for township residents.” says Kelly Bernstein, manager of Library Services. “Many rural areas in Waterloo Region are underserved by high-speed Internet providers, and borrowing a hotspot from RWL will enable residents to access online services from home and away.”
The Cradlepoint router hotspots that power this initiative were generously provided by CDW Canada. “CDW is pleased to be delivering this wireless solution to the Region of Waterloo Library, and the region as a whole,” says Isaac Ling, senior sales manager, CDW Canada. “We feel this is yet another great example of how CDW helps enable communities through integrated technology.”
