March Break fun: Explore, learn and create at Region of Waterloo Museums and Libraries

Waterloo Region – Join Region of Waterloo Museums and Libraries this March break for a fun-filled lineup of engaging activities, workshops and special events designed to inspire participants of all ages. Explore our three historic sites Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum, McDougall Cottage and Schneider Haus each offering March Break activities included with admission, and a few ticketed events ($). At our 12 library locations, all programming is free, with something for everyone. Please click on the activity link for details and registration information.

Saturday, March 8

  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Fun and Games (Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum - Kitchener)
  • 2 to 3 p.m. - Therapy Dog Visit ($) (Schneider Haus – Kitchener)

Sunday, March 9

  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Fun and Games (Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum - Kitchener)
  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Skull Detectives (Schneider Haus – Kitchener)

Monday, March 10

  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Wild Backyard with Wild Ontario ($) (Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum - Kitchener)
  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Worms, Turtles and RARE, oh my! (Schneider Haus – Kitchener)

Tuesday, March 11

  • 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. & 1 to 3 p.m. - Fairy House Building Workshop ($) (McDougall Cottage – Cambridge)
  • 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. – DIY Charm Bracelets (Region of Waterloo Library - Ayr Branch)
  • 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Kitchen Chemistry in partnership with Mad Science (Region of Waterloo Library - Bloomingdale Branch)
  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. - History Exploration (Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum - Kitchener)
  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Speaking of Wildlife Interactive Display (Schneider Haus – Kitchener)
  • 1 to 2 p.m. & 3 to 4 p.m. - Speaking of Wildlife Drop In ($) (Schneider Haus – Kitchener)

Wednesday, March 12

  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Skull Detectives (Schneider Haus – Kitchener)
  • 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. – DIY Charm Bracelets (Region of Waterloo Library – New Hamburg Branch)
  • 4 to 5 p.m. – Tinker with Tech (Region of Waterloo Library – Wellesley Branch)

Thursday, March 13

  • 10 to 11 a.m. – Face It! in partnership with Engineering Science Quest(Region of Waterloo Library – Baden Branch)
  • 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. - Skate with RWL (North Dumfries Community Complex)
  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. - The Magic of Science (Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum - Kitchener)
  • 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - All Ages Enchanted Fairy Tea by the Grand ($) (McDougall Cottage – Cambridge)
  • 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Speaking of Wildlife Drop In (Schneider Haus – Kitchener)

Friday, March 14

  • 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Zamboni Tour and Story in partnership with the Township of Wilmot(Wilmot Recreation Complex - Baden)
  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Sounds of Sustainability: Opera and Recycled Creations (Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum - Kitchener)
  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Fossil Friday with the University of Waterloo Earth Sciences Museum (Schneider Haus – Kitchener)
  • 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. – DIY Charm Bracelets (Region of Waterloo Library – Elmira Branch)

Saturday, March 15

  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. - Earth Day: Free Tree Giveaway (Region of Waterloo Library - Available at all branches)
  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Fun and Games (Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum - Kitchener)
  • 12 to 1 p.m. - Wild Ontario Bird Meet and Greet ($) (Schneider Haus – Kitchener)

Sunday, March 16

  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Fun and Games (Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum - Kitchener)
  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Meet a Worm Wrangler (Schneider Haus – Kitchener)
